CYCLE SYNCING SEED MACAROONS

We love Sophie Haber's commitment to teaching us about women's monthly cycles & how to better support the four different phases of it, through mindful and conscious eating. Sophie shares two recipes, one to support the Follicular Phase and another for the Luteal Phase, both which incorporate Sun Potion herbs and adaptogens. These recipes, that incorporate pantry staples can be turned into your weekend, stay at home project!

These two cycle syncing seed macaroons are created to aid women's hormones throughout our monthly cycle.

We have four phases to our cycle which are the follicular, ovulation, luteal and menstrual. Throughout each phase, we have a substantial difference in how we go about caring for our bodies. We get to eat differently, exercise differently and work differently if we listen. My intention for creating new recipes are now based on which phase I am currently in and what my body is asking for.

Lemon Poppy Seed Moon Macaroon

(For your Follicular Phase)

These zingy, sweet, and melt in your mouth macaroons are specificly made to support you through your Follicular and Ovulation phase of your cycle! Flax and sunflower seeds are infused to help draw out any excess estrogen with a shortbread texture thanks to the GF oats! A hint of lemon, poppy seed and vanilla awakens your senses!

Ingredients

1/2 cup ground flaxseeds

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds

1/2 cup GF oats

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1 tsp. poppy seeds

1/2 tsp. vanilla bean powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cup coconut butter

1/4 cup cashew butter

1/4 tsp. lemon oil extract

1/4 tsp. Sun Potion Pearl powder

1 tsp. Sun Potion Yin Power

1/2 cup ground flaxseeds

 Method

In a food processor or blender, mix together your flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, GF oats, shredded coconut, and your dates

Blend until coarsely mixed and then sprinkle in your poppy seeds, Sun Potion Powders if you have them, and then your vanilla, salt and lemon oil extract

Melt your coconut butter in a small pot on the stove or if enclosed let it sit in warm water (I love to use my hands for this process of mixing in the cashew butter and the coconut butter)

Let it all come together until it forms a ball

Break them into smaller round moons and place them on a pan

Drip the extra half of the coconut butter on-top of your moons to coat them and sprinkle fresh lemon zest on top!

Let them harden in the fridge and enjoy during your Follicular phase!

Sophie Haber

Sophie is a storyteller in the many shapes and forms that mold from her passions. She is inspired by her travels, the wilderness, and the senses. The first cocoon of storytelling came through her photos as she would weave together these elaborate tales through imagery. As her world began to expand and her feet took her places deeper into the unknown her experiences became stories. Words found rhythm and took shape. Having studied alongside midwife and School of Shamanic Womancraft teacher, Jane Hardwick Collings her world for the sacred was seeded. She finds her essence through connection and deeply listening to others she sits circle with. Honouring these cyclical thresholds of life she is inspired to be of service to these rites of remembering. More recently, Sophie has dived deep into the world of writing. With the inspiration and grace of author, writer, and circle facilitator Janet Lucy she has blossomed her passion to write. She has become a Certified Writing Circle Facilitator and is excited to sit circle with others who feel called.
