Herbal Nut Butter Chocolate Cups

 Ingredients

Chocolate

60 grams cacao paste (ceremonial cacao)

4 tbsp. raw cacao

2 tbsp. maple syrup or raw honey

2 tbsp. coconut oil

½ tsp. Sun Potion Eucommia

Pinch of sea salt

Filling

4 tbsp. almond butter or any nut butter of your choice

2 tbsp. coconut oil, melted

1 tbsp. Sun Potion Prash

1 tbsp. Bio-Active Honey

¼ tsp. vanilla bean powder

⅛ tsp. sea salt

Tools

10 small chocolate molds/cupcake tins

Method

Chocolate

Gently melt cacao paste and coconut oil by placing the ingredients in a glass bowl. Place the bowl in another, larger bowl filled about ⅓ with hot water. Stir every now and then until the cacao and coconut oil is completely melted.

Stir in cacao powder, maple syrup/honey, Eucommia and salt.

Add about 1 tbsp. of chocolate to the molds/cups. Place them in the fridge or freezer until solid.

Nut butter filling

Start with room temperature ingredients. Stir nut butter, melted coconut oil, Prash, honey, vanilla and salt together in a bowl. Add a little more sweetener and/or salt to taste if desired.

Add 1 large teaspoon of the nut butter mixture to the molds/tins. Finish with another layer of chocolate (1-2 tbsp.) to cover the filling.

Place the chocolates back into the fridge or freezer for at least 1 hour. Pop the chocolates out of their tins and dust with raw cacao before serving.

In-joy!

More from Sun Potion on Eucommia Bark...

Eucommia, also known as du Zhong, comes from a rubber tree native to China. Used in traditional medicine for centuries, Eucommia bark is often used to promote wound healing, pain relief, sexual function and whole-body flexibility. Our Eucommia (Wildcrafted) powder is also a source of bioavailable latex and may support the kidneys, joints, connective tissues and lower body, including the knees and back.

According to tradition, Eucommia is often connected to kidney and liver health. It’s also believed to strengthen bones and muscles while lessening pain, stiffness and weakness. Wildcrafted Eucommia may also be recommended for those who have blood pressure concerns.

Traditionally, one reason why Eucommia has been used to facilitate wound healing is that it is a naturally occurring source of bioavailable latex. Eucommia Bark may be used to treat kidney and liver conditions or to reduce discomfort in the joints, muscles and connective tissues. Our Eucommia powdered extract may also be recommended for those who are highly active to speed recovery or who are experiencing physical discomfort.
