Sun Potion Journal

Transformational Foods for a Transformational Life

Welcome to the journal - an online, intersectional wellness platform - to connect, educate and inspire our international community.

Iselin Amanda Støylen

Hi there, my name is Iselin. I like putting flowers in my food, reading books (often the same ones over and over) and sharing my passion for holistic lifestyle practices. I feel most at peace when I spend my days surrounded by nature. Forest walks. Creek swims. Ocean dips… I like to eat foods that are close to the Earth — bursting with energy, flavour and nutrition. I spend much of my ‘spare’ time simply sitting in silence, moving my body on my yoga mat, immersed in creative projects or creating delicious food in the kitchen.. I am a registered yoga teacher, IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition) Health Coach and cookbook author. At the moment I am completing my education as a birth and postpartum doula, breastfeeding counsellor and childbirth educator. I am passionate about helping women understand their bodies' innate wisdom, find harmony within themselves and support them on their journey of optimising health and true wellbeing in all aspects of life. You can find me at www.shaktitales.com, where I share recipes, thoughts, articles and more.

Elena Petrossian

Elena was born and raised in Los Angeles with a background in graphic design and art direction. She's always been curious in various creative fields, such as cooking and design, however, has worked in the fashion industry since college. Coming from an Armenian background, growing up she was raised by women who were homemakers that implemented a culture around the kitchen so cooking always came naturally. Elena launched a food-art studio entitled Ânânâs Ânânâs in December 2019 in Mexico City with her creative partner Verónica González. There they design edible sculptures and art pieces made entirely from food. Follow @__ananasananas, @elena_petrossian and @veronylon for updates and future shows.

Sarah Considine

Nutritionist, Chef and Founder of Eat Clean with Sarah For the last 20 years I’ve had a love affair with plant food. It all started as an ethical choice and has continued evolving to become not only my passion, but my career. I find so much joy in the taking freshly picked local fruit and vegetables and turning it into something healing and delicious. I truly believe the future + longevity of humans and our beautiful planet is in our hands. Every single bite we take, every single day can make a significant impact on our energy levels and overall happiness. I love infusing my creations with healing adaptogens and superfoods. I personally have highly benefited from these gifts provided by mother nature and I am so grateful to share their attributes with everyone I know. When I am not cooking I enjoy exploring this beautiful world with my husband and hanging in the sunshine with my fur child.

I also ran a natural skin care company for 10 years and have since received my Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medical Dermatology. Maria Mocerino

As a storyteller, Maria has done everything from clowning to art curation. As of late, however, she has been writing about people and plants, including psychedelics. Her recent passion project is Plant Celebrities, which playfully redirects the celebrity spotlight to the Plant Kingdom. Luckily for her, Sun Potion is into whimsy! Working with illustrators, she hopes to honor, celebrate, and inspirit the plant kingdom in order to encourage human beings to reconnect with nature and take care of themselves. And yes, she wants to make fun of us too, because we’re seriously silly.  Imagination and tenderness are two very important words to her because they inspire her to consider our innocence and vulnerability. From that perspective, the world doesn’t look so rigid, literal, or unchangeable.  Pinning down a location for Maria, however, would make for a fun game of Where is the World is Carmen San Diego? She definitely has the hats. As a lover of vintage clothes, traveling, and gymnastics, if there is a terrace, trampoline, or sale, she’s probably on it. InstagramWebsite
